Lia's Avocado Cheesecake

So after having lunch in Rub Ribs & BBQ, we decided to find another place where we can have our dessert.

Of course, desserts will always be a part of any meal. Plus, I love desserts and I won't agree if we won't have anything sweet that day. And buti na lang, my friends also have sweet tooth like me. Cheers para sa dessert!! Hehe

Second stop: Lia's Cakes in Season

They had a variety of cakes but they specialize in avocado cakes. So we tried their best seller, the Avocado Cheesecake.

My friends and I love this cheesecake. It's something that we rarely see in cake shops since avocados are not always used in cakes. But hey, masarap siya. Ubos agad the moment it was put in our table! Parang hindi kumain ng lunch. lol

Avocado Cheesecake, Php 85 per slice

We also tried their Chocolate Decadence since nakakatakam yung itsura niya. And also, because I am a fan of chocolate cakes and still in search for the best chocolate cake in Manila. And so I  give this a try. However, it's not really the kind of taste that we expected.

Though the cake looks fudgy and moist, its texture is not smooth when eaten. Medyo rough sya and there is an after taste of strong cocoa flavor. I felt bad eating this since it really looks yummy from their display of cakes.

Ubos agad yung Avocado Cheesecake in 5 minutes! Hehe

Though we didn't like the Chocolate Decadence, we are sure that we'll definitely go back for that yummy Avocado Cheesecake again!

We hope they try to improve that chocolate cake since mukha talaga kasi siyang yummy. :)

No to Diet in Rub Ribs & BBQ

Since it's been a while since my college barkada and I saw each other, we made sure to mark this day in our calendar our feast day. Yay! Feast day talaga, yes! Kasi we plan to ditch our "diets' today and just indulge on eating. Bye diet! Haha!

We originally planned to have lunch at Rub then just have desserts on other nearby restos and then go home, but ooops, we just forget our plan and we ate in 5 restos that day!

First stop: RUB Ribs & BBQ

I have really been planning to eat here months ago, yet the incredible line outside the resto can't make me wait on after work nights. And so finally, this day is making me happy! By the way, when we went here on a Holiday afternoon, there are still a couple of people in a line outside. I guess I just have to live with that. Hehe.

Rub's Family Brunch, good for 4, Php 685

We ordered their specialty of course, the RIBS! And because there are 4 of us, we had the Ribs Family Brunch. This also includes 3 side dishes that you can choose among the list. We had grilled buttered corn, potato fries and garlic mushroom and spinach.

The ribs are really good. And the bbq sauce on the side has the perfect taste to complement the ribs. It doesn't have the umay factor unlike other bbq sauce because of the different herbs that are added and it's sweetness is just right.

Chicken Cajun Pasta, 200

We also ordered the Chicken Cajun Pasta with strips of chicken and tomatoes. I admire the fact that they added tomatoes, but we weren't able to taste any difference of this in a regular Carbonara.

Buffalo Chicken Wings with Bleu Cheese Dressing, Php 255

We also ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wings in case our food is not enough. This is just so-so.

Even if the pasta and buffalo wings are not really spectacular, we were happy that their ribs tastes yummy. And for its price, okay sya! And yes, mas masarap kumain dito if you're sharing those ribs among your friends or family.
